I built this one with the LED's from my old reflector plus some new ones since some of the old leads broke off. This is in full working order and ready to install. I'll even include directions for installing it.

Few questions. Whats with the gap between the 2 sides of the reflector? And why does it flash at a different rate of the brake lights?

I cannot watch the video at work to verify this, but what you are most likely seeing is the difference in the rate LEDs light up compared to halogen bulbs.

LEDs turn on almost instantaneous once electricity is flowing through them and turn off just as fast once that flow has stopped.

Halogen bulbs take time to heat up/light to full brightness. It also takes a short amount of time for the bulb to cool down and completely turn off.

He is right about why it looks like it is blinking at a different rate. Some LED tail light bulbs would fix this.

The gap is there so I don't have to have one LED higher then the rest. If you look at the back of the reflector the challenge of putting LED's in there is immediately obvious. Basically, they need to be arranged in a way that keeps me from having to put a LED next to one of the mounting studs. There isn't enough room to make it look right. The gap makes it possible to use the number LED's I want without having to worry about if it'll line up. Does the split bother you?

The one on Ebay is made from all new LED's. But yes, it is the same thing.

I actually made a template this time. So, if you can't get in on this one you can always pick one up later. I can make one in a day as long as I have all the parts available and I feel good enough to do it. I am out of spare reflectors though and so is the local yard. So, you would have to send me one.
