    Fast Supra practice Drag time

This car is from a shop in Toledo. The thing is insane. I found it on the local forum and thought i would share...

So we finally did it. First pass off the trailer last night: 7.88 @ 185 with a 1.38 60. Backed it up with a 7.81 @ 187.4 with a 1.31 60. The previous MPH record was held by Boost Logic (186.6) using a glide, a bigger 55-91 and a taller tire. After contemplating a third 'give it hell pass' we just decided to drive it straight back onto the trailer and call it a night. We're .1 away from the ET record held by Titan. We didn't quite realize this last night, but probably a good thing we didn't.

Here's the video (you can hear me lift right after the 60 to kill some tire shake, so we left some ET on the table):

And it only took a $45 part to go from breaking something rear end related about every time we pulled it off the trailer to running 7's. Well that and a few different combos of axles, rear ends, and diffs. Don was getting sick of me complaining about not being able to see the Motec digital dash so he installed a shift light to stop the bleeding. After hooking it up, we ran two consistent passes for the first time. We didn't change a thing all summer. Set the shocks at 50%, boost at 33-35 psi, and the Maximizer at 100%. Still running a 28*10.5 slick on the OEM IRS.

It took us about a dozen hits to get into the 7's which is pretty cool given that it was completely built from the ground up. Except for a loose nitrous fitting early in the year, not a single gremlin popped up.

Accelerated Performance deserves some credit for building the first customer Supra in the 7's....especially since it's driven by a fat, old guy....

Hard to tell. Off of the line it seemed he hesitated....maybe trans break issues?? Maybe spooling the turbo a little more before final launch?? But when he "hits" second gear and it tucks......maybe it is a stick??

I've seen that car before. Not in person, just in videos. I was trying to keep up with him for awhile. Watched him go from like 11's or so to 9's, and now down to 7's. That thing makes me cream my pants, every video I see.

I'd give my right nut to sit in the passenger seat in that thing on a 7 second run.

Look how much the butt drops down. It sinks a good six inches. I'm sure they have some heavy duty springs in there too.
